La centrale nucléaire de Browns Ferry est située sur la rivière Tennessee près de Decatur et d’Athens, en Alabama. La tranche nº 1 est arrêtée durant une année. Un travailleur qui contrôlait l’étanchéité d’un système dair à l’aide d’une bougie déclencha le feu accidentellement.

The Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant is located on the Tennessee River near Decatur and Athens, Alabama, on the north side (right bank) of Wheeler Lake. The site has three  Electric boiling water reactor (BWR) nuclear generating units and is owned entirely by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
